Other spin offs like Mystery Dungeon stayed strong throughout the years, but why not this one? Lets just look at the current state of affairs and whether or not it's likely that we'll get another game. Gen 5 came along and there wasn't another game. Gens 6 and 7 arrived on the 3DS and Pokémon Ranger still remained in the shadows. Of Almia. The Ranger series and dual screens with touch controls go hand in hand. The Switch has touch, but it's a different kind of touch technology, with no stylus no less. Ranger would have to be totally overhauled if it were to come to Switch. It's 2018 now. It's been 8 years. What happened? I haven't been active here, have I? I do miss the days when I was constantly spending time here. Life has been tough. My time and passion aren't very plentiful these days. -Touch screen games are less prominent. -Guardian Signs: 2010. - It's been 8 years since Guardian Signs and 3 more Pokémon generations have passed. Interest in making a new Ranger seems to be lost. Will Pokémon Ranger Return? 1. No more Ranger Games. -The Switch might end Nintendo's primary handheld market in the future. Who knows, maybe they'll throw a curveball at us and make a new Pokémon Ranger for 3DS. Time is running out though. Who knows how long Nintendo will keep supporting the handheld. The system's been out for like 7 years. Has anybody else noticed that Pokémon spin-offs are far less frequent? Sure, there have been a lot of smart phone games, but I'm talking about fully fledged Nintendo system games. All we've gotten in the past few years are Super Mystery Dungeon, Pokkén, Pokkén a second time, and Detective Pikachu. I'm guessing most money, time, and resources have been used on the main series and phone games. Pokémon is a franchise that has spawned endless media. This includes many spin-off games. There was once a time when trainers would take a break from their badge earning adventures to become Pokémon rangers. That one trainer class in the main series got the spotlight. Over time though, games less commonly used touch as a main mechanic. The same can be said for the 3DS's 3D or the Wii U's asymmetric gameplay. There are of course exceptions and loads of shovelware games that still use touch primarily. 2. The slow death of the 3DS and moving on to the Switch: -The 3DS is being drip fed new games until it finally retires. I've no idea. Maybe The Pokémon Company just lost interest in the series? With these reasons I have deduced.. That about wraps it up. - The Switch only has one screen, and that screen uses a different type of touch. What do you think? Could there be a new Pokémon Ranger game? How do you feel about the series and what's your favourite instalment? Is there a demand for a new game? Let me know in the comments. Players would find themselves going on adventures to protect Pokémon and nature. Rather than catching Pokémon, you would temporarily befriend them. You could then use their abilities to help you on the field and against other Pokémon. -Shadows of Almia: 2008. There probably won't be anymore Pokémon Ranger games. What with being on the DS family of systems, the Ranger games focused a lot on the touch screen. Get ready to draw a lot of circles. Drawing circles around Pokémon, avoiding their attacks, and having other Pokémon assist you is what you'll be doing other than exploring. Go easy on the touch screen, scratches are abound otherwise. - Pokémon spin-offs are becoming less frequent. The DS's main draw was having two screens, one of which was a touch screen. Many DS games, especially the earlier ones, focused heavily on touch. 2. Ranger gets its gameplay overhauled and is brought to the Switch. 1.Nintendo focusing less on touch screen heavy games. Been a while PokéAmino. 3. The 3DS throws a curveball at us and there's a new game within the next year or two. 2019!? I guess we have at least another year or two of 3DS games on our way. A brief summary. Nintendo's latest console is a console handheld hybrid. The Pokémon main series is confirmed to be moving to the Switch. This leaves the state of there being a 3DS successor unclear and unlikely. The age of dual screen gaming might be coming to a close. As always, stay bodacious. You should out my new gaming Twitter since you're here. It's been a good outlet for my busy life. 3. The Pokémon spin-off drought: Three Future Possibilities: A brief history. An often overlooked trilogy of games, Pokémon Ranger was introduced to the world during gen 3. Followed by two sequels in gen 4. Each game had episodes in the anime coinciding with them. There was even a Ranger themed movie. Reasons why Pokémon Ranger might never come back.
